Megavar seeks an Electrical Draftsperson to produce drawings for HV substations and distribution projects across Australia. You will work with engineers to create schematics, layouts and wiring diagrams in AutoCAD, aligning with Australian standards and Megavar conventions.

You’ll join a close-knit team with flexible office locations (Hobart, Launceston, Adelaide, Newcastle), ongoing training and clear progression.

Competenze

• Diploma or certificate in electrical drafting or electrical engineering required.
• At least 2 years' experience in electrical drafting, ideally on substation or distribution projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or related CAD software.
• Familiarity with HV electrical systems and substation environments.

We're looking for an Electrical Draftsperson to produce the drawings behind our substation and distribution design work: schematics, layouts and wiring diagrams issued to network businesses and contractors across Australia. You'll work directly with our engineers and project managers, not at the end of a long queue.

What You'll Be Doing

• Producing accurate electrical schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams and general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD from engineers' mark-ups and design requirements.
• Working closely with engineers and project managers so drawings meet technical specifications and programme.
• Applying client drafting standards, Australian standards and Megavar's drawing conventions consistently.
• Checking drawings for accuracy and compliance before issue.
• Managing drawing registers, revisions and document control.
• Supporting site teams and stakeholders with drawing clarifications.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of drafting quality and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• A diploma or relevant certification in electrical drafting or electrical engineering.
• At least 2 years' experience in electrical drafting, ideally on substation or distribution projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or related CAD software.
