Engineering Networks is seeking an Electrical Designer in Brisbane to lead from concept to detailed drawings, collaborating with engineers, controls specialists and project delivery teams. You’ll own drawing quality, influence manufacturing and installation approaches, and mentor junior designers as the division grows.

You’ll bring at least 5 years’ electrical drafting or design experience, with strong switchboard, MV/LV and motor control design capability, and proficiency in AutoCAD or similar

• AutoCAD or similar electrical design software experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or Elecdes is highly regarded, AS/NZS 61439 familiarity.
• Heavy industrial, water or wastewater experience valuable.

Our client is an established electrical contracting, projects and services business with more than 50 years’ experience. Its expanding Utilities and Resources division is seeking an Electrical Designer to join the Brisbane team.

THE WORK

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead electrical design from concept through to detailed drawings, working closely with engineers, controls specialists, project managers and electrical trades.

Switchboard and control panel general arrangements

MV/LV single line diagrams and motor control

Control schematics, termination diagrams and instrumentation drawings

Switchroom layouts and industrial power distribution

Utilities and resources projects, including water and wastewater

You’ll have input into how designs are manufactured and installed, take ownership of drawing quality and coordination, and help improve drafting processes. As the team grows, there’s also scope to mentor other designers.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• At least 5 years’ electrical drafting or design experience
• Strong capability in switchboard, MV/LV and motor control design
• AutoCAD or similar electrical design software experience
• A practical approach to producing accurate, buildable designs

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or Elecdes is highly regarded, as is familiarity with AS/NZS 61439. Heavy industrial, water or wastewater experience would also be valuable.
