Job summary

JN | Consulting Engineers in Sydney CBD invites an Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to concept and detailed electrical design and documentation across a diverse project portfolio.

You will perform design calculations, produce drawings, and coordinate the Electrical design with the MEP team within a multidisciplinary office. A minimum of 2 years in Building Services and a relevant Electrical Engineering qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Building Services.
• Knowledge of electrical design of power, fire and smoke detection and lighting.
• Positive and proactive approach to work and to building relationships within the team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design calculations, reports and drawings under limited supervision;
• Produce and review designs of junior engineers in accordance with the relevant design standards and codes;
• Participate in the inclusion and coordination of the Electrical design into the MEP documentation;
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Based in our Sydney CBD team, you will be given the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of concept and detailed electrical design and documentation on a diverse range of projects, whilst taking responsibility for your projects.

As the Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will consist of:

• Deliver design calculations, reports and drawings under limited supervision;
• Produce and review designs of junior engineers in accordance with the relevant design standards and codes;
• Participate in the inclusion and coordination of the Electrical design into the MEP documentation;
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment;

Your Experience Will Include

• A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering;
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the Building Services sector;
• Proficiency and/or knowledge of Electrical design of power, fire and smoke detection and lighting and a willingness to learn these services;
• A positive and proactive approach to work and to building relationships within the team and the business.

Additional Desirable Experience

• Commercial fit-out design;
• Residential Electrical design;
• Understanding of Dry fire systems and emergency lighting system design;
• Understanding of PV system design and communications;
• Participation in a collaborative and multidiscipline team.
