Job summary

STP Consultants in Brisbane seeks an experienced electrical BIM leader to drive coordination, set standards and mentor a growing team delivering constructible design solutions.

You will own BIM standards, lead multidisciplinary coordination, manage electrical models in Revit, ACC and Navisworks, and help shape efficient workflows across Southeast Queensland projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in electrical drafting, BIM coordination or BIM leadership within building services or consulting engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit with ACC and Navisworks; Dynamo experience preferred.
• Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating BIM/drafting team members, including allocation and workload management.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design, modelling and documentation requirements.
• Understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), modelling standards, naming conventions and QA processes.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the BIM team across projects, allocating resources to meet deadlines.
• Champion BIM and drafting standards across projects, ensuring BEPs and QA processes are followed.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting modelling challenges and promoting best practices.
• Manage electrical BIM models in Revit, ensuring alignment with design intent and project requirements.
• Drive multidisciplinary coordination to resolve clashes and deliver constructable solutions.
• Coordinate design changes and keep model/documentation current with RFIs and variations.
• Oversee project documentation and maintain registers, ensuring contractual compliance and quality.
• Drive continuous improvement of BIM workflows and team efficiency.

The Opportunity

• Lead and coordinate the BIM team: Manage team members, allocate project resources and balance workloads to meet project deadlines and delivery requirements.
• Champion BIM and drafting standards: Maintain consistent modelling standards, naming conventions, quality assurance processes and compliance with project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Provide technical leadership: Support and assist BIM team members, troubleshoot complex modelling challenges and promote best practice across the team.
• Manage electrical BIM models: Produce, maintain and review electrical models and documentation in Revit, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design intent and project requirements.
• Drive multidisciplinary coordination: Work with engineers, designers, consultants and other disciplines to resolve clashes, coordinate design interfaces and deliver constructable solutions.
• Manage design changes: Coordinate model updates arising from design development, RFIs and design variations, ensuring information remains accurate and current.
• Oversee project documentation: Maintain drawing and model registers and ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements, project standards and quality expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, team efficiency and modelling quality across electrical projects.

About you:

• 6+ years of experience in electrical drafting, BIM coordination or BIM leadership within building services or a consulting engineering environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, with experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Navisworks. Dynamo experience is preferred but not essential.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or coordinating BIM and drafting team members, including project allocation and workload management.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design, modelling and documentation requirements.
• Understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), modelling standards, naming conventions and quality assurance processes.
