Job summary

Minecon Recruitment Pty is seeking an experienced BIM Lead for a major Queensland project with a leading Tier 1 electrical contractor. You will own BIM delivery, lead a drafting team and coordinate with multi-discipline groups to ensure a coordinated, buildable model.

The role requires strong Revit/Navisworks capabilities and experience delivering on large-scale electrical packages.

Qualifications

• Extensive BIM delivery experience on major infrastructure or commercial projects.
• Experience leading drafters and coordinating interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong Revit/Navisworks skills with ACC/BIM 360 and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of BIM delivery for the electrical package on a Major project.
• Leading, supporting and allocating work across the project drafting team.
• Managing electrical modelling and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating electrical services with mechanical, hydraulic, fire, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Running clash detection and driving issues through to resolution.
• Attending BIM and services coordination meetings with the builder, consultants and subcontractors.
• Reviewing models and drawings for quality, accuracy and constructability.
• Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and site teams to ensure BIM reflects construction requirements.
• Managing model updates, revisions and project BIM requirements.
• Supporting project handover and as-built documentation.
• Ensuring project BIM standards, procedures and the BIM Execution Plan are followed.

Job description

We’re working with a leading Tier 1 electrical contractor to recruit an experienced BIM Lead for a major project in Queensland.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership of BIM delivery across the project, reporting to the BIM Manager and leading a team of drafters.

You’ll work closely with the wider project team, site delivery, consultants, the builder and other services trades to ensure the electrical model is coordinated, buildable and delivered in line with project requirements.

About You

We’re looking for someone who understands both BIM and construction delivery.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Strong BIM experience within Major infrastructure projects
• Previous experience working for a Commercial electrical contractor either Tier 1 or Tier 2
• Experience on major commercial, infrastructure, health or other complex projects
• Strong Revit and Navisworks capability
• Experience with ACC / BIM 360 and AutoCAD
• Previous experience leading or mentoring drafters / BIM Modellers
• A strong understanding of electrical installations and construction methodology
• Confidence dealing with builders, consultants, engineers and other services trades
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills
• An electrical trade or engineering background would be highly regarded but is not Essential
