Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is hiring an Electrical Apprentice for a full four-year program at one of Australia’s most automated logistics sites. You’ll be mentored by licensed electricians while working on ASRS Miniload cranes, AGVs, conveyors, and robotics to gain hands-on automation experience.

You will attend TAFE/RTO training and progress through a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, building a career with long-term pathways in intralogistics automation.

Qualifications

• Year 12 with Math and English; pre-apprenticeship in electrotechnology is highly regarded.
• Strong mechanical interest and motivation to learn in automation.
• Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians with preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs on automated equipment.
• Support fault-finding on electrical, control and sensor systems including PLC I/O, drives and safety circuits.
• Carry out routine tasks such as cleaning, cable management and minor replacements under supervision.
• Follow isolation, lockout/tagout and safe work procedures at all times.
• Record completed work, findings and parts used in the maintenance system.
• Attend TAFE or RTO training and complete competency sign-offs on schedule.
• Participate in toolbox talks, hazard reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean, safe and organized.

About the role

Join the HFAQ Maintenance team and complete your electrical apprenticeship on one of Australia’s most automated logistics sites. You’ll work with Toyota Automated Logistics systems: ASRS Miniload cranes, AGVs, robot palletisers, conveyor and sortation systems. Licensed electricians will supervise you as you build the skills to become a qualified Electrician with specialist automation experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians with preventive maintenance, inspections and corrective repairs on automated equipment.
• Support fault-finding on electrical, control and sensor systems, including motors, drives, PLC I/O, safety circuits and photo-eyes.
• Carry out routine tasks such as cleaning, component checks, cable management and minor replacements under supervision.
• Follow isolation, lockout/tagout and safe work procedures at all times.
• Record completed work, findings and parts used accurately in the maintenance system.
• Attend TAFE or RTO training and complete your training record and competency sign-offs on schedule.
• Take part in toolbox talks, hazard reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean, safe and organised.

About you

• Year 12 with Math and English (a pre-apprenticeship in electrotechnology is highly regarded).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in electrical, automation or robotics.
• Safety-first mindset with good attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn and take direction.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Current driver’s license
• Willing to work shifts as required.
