Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics, Moorebank NSW-based leader in automated logistics solutions, seeks a Deputy Shift Lead for a 24/7 site in Moorebank, Sydney. You will support the Shift Leader, coach technicians, respond to faults, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and quality across operations.

You will bring a technical background in mechanical/electrical/automation disciplines, experience in automated environments, and strong communication to engage stakeholders and sustain

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in mechanical, electrical, automation or mechatronics or related technical discipline.
• Experience in automated warehouse/logistics/manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams in fast-paced operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with ability to interpret equipment diagnostics and performance data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shift Leader in coordinating daily maintenance and operational activities across the site.
• Lead and coach technicians through hands-on guidance to foster a high-performing team.
• Respond to system faults, outages, and escalations to maximise equipment availability.
• Monitor maintenance activities using the CMMS and report accurately on asset status.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure safety, quality, and operational standards.

This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading technology while driving operational excellence, team performance, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction within a 24/7 operation.

Your Impact

Support the Shift Leader in coordinating daily maintenance and operational activities across the site. Lead and coach technicians through hands-on guidance, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Respond to system faults, outages, and escalations to maximise equipment availability and operational performance. Monitor maintenance activities using the CMMS, ensuring accurate reporting and effective asset management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reliability, and service delivery. Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and operational standards across all activities. Support the achievement of key performance indicators related to system performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

What makes you a great fit?

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience working within automated warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring technical teams in a fast-paced operational setting.
