Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Service Technician based in Dandenong South, VIC. This fixed-term, full-time role supports the maintenance and reliability of an advanced automated logistics system within a site-based residential service environment.

The contract is 12 months with potential permanency for the right candidate. You’ll work on cutting-edge automation technology alongside a collaborative local and global engineering network, contributing directly to system availability,

Qualifications

• Trade-based qualification with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with industrial automation; familiarity with PLC, VFD, HMI is advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to work rotating shifts; proficient with MS Office and maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on conveyors, cranes, robotics, and AGVs to ensure safe operation.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical faults across automated systems.
• Collaborate with onsite automation specialists to maximise system uptime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
• Support daily operations including system flow control and operator tasks; uphold safety culture.

Rostered with an equal spread of day & night shifts

Your Impact

• Perform comprehensive mechanical maintenance on automated logistics systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical faults across conveyors, cranes, robotic systems, and AGVs
• Work closely with onsite automation specialists and operators to maximise system uptime for our customer
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and onsite maintenance processes
• Support daily operational activities including system flow control and general operator tasks when required
• Actively uphold and promote a strong safety‑first culture across all activities

What makes you a great fit?

• Trade‑based qualification with strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience working with industrial automation and an understanding of industrial controls (PLC, VFD, HMI exposure advantageous)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems
• Physically fit, able to work at heights, and adaptable to a rotating shift environment
• A motivated, reliable team player with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety
• (Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship is required)
