Job summary

Genus Industrial Services seeks an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the Koolunga Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in South Australia. You will coordinate electrical engineering activities from construction through testing, commissioning and handover.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least three years of relevant experience in construction, utilities or major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years experience as Electrical Project Engineer.
• Experience in construction, utilities, resources, energy or major infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret scopes of work, specs and electrical drawings.
• Experience preparing construction, quality and handover docs.
• Familiar with Australian regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management.
• Ability to work under pressure with accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation or SolidWorks.
• Current Australian driver's licence and Construction White Card.
• Ability to obtain National Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting client scopes, specs and electrical design drawings.
• Providing technical guidance to the electrical project team.
• Preparing, reviewing and coordinating work packs, MDRs, ITPs, drawings and SWMS.
• Raising and managing technical queries to resolution.
• Coordinating electrical works, resources and deliverables.
• Monitoring compliance with schedules and standards.
• Conducting site inspections to verify installations.
• Establishing field-testing methods and monitoring testing quality.
• Supporting verification, commissioning, turnover and handover docs.
• Preparing red-line drawings and as-built records.
• Ideating design/construction issues and solutions.
• Reviewing deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Contributing to project reporting and continuous improvement.
