Job summary

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking an Electoral Educator to deliver engaging education sessions about Australia’s federal electoral system at the National Electoral Education Centre and associated programs. You will tailor content for school groups, teachers and public visitors, coordinating logistics, resources and technology to ensure high-quality learning experiences.

You will learn all NEEC programs, contribute to digital learning initiatives and support external engagement

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering engaging education, training or learning programs for diverse audiences, includingchildren, young people and adults, supported by strong communication skills.
• Proven capacity to coordinate and support the delivery of education programs or events, including managing logistics and resources.
• Ability to develop, review and improve education resources or learning materials with clear writing.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team with integrity and accountability.
• Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and its application to education programs.
• Ability to apply inclusive learning practices to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging education sessions on Australia's federal electoral system, including House of Representatives, Senate and referendum processes.
• Facilitate interactive learning experiences for students and adult visitors and tailor presentations to audience needs.
• Plan, prepare, and set up learning spaces; ensure resources and technology are available for sessions.
• Learn all NEEC programs and be flexible to work across NEEC operating hours (8:15am - 5:45pm).
• Contribute to developing, delivering and evaluating education programs and digital learning initiatives.
• Support external engagement activities across events and audiences and assist with design of learning materials.
