Job summary

SoftLabs is seeking experienced Cloud Engineers and/or Architects to deliver enterprise cloud solutions across the CIO Group in Canberra. You will design architectures for MS Azure and MS 365, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet stakeholder objectives.

Applicants should have 5+ years in cloud engineering/architecture, strong Azure expertise, and the ability to align solutions with government standards.

The CIO Group provides a range of enabling services andoperations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and are seeking experienced andmotivated Cloud Engineers and/or Architects with a minimum of 5 years' experience toassist with the delivery of various ICT Projects across the CIO Group.

Key duties and responsibilities

Cloud Engineers and/or Architects will be required to:

• Develop enterprise level cloud platform architectures for MSAzure and M365;
• Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-basedsystems;
• Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers;
• Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements;
• Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintainadherence to whole-of-government standards;
• Provide technical guidance and input into the design andbuild of cloud-based systems;
• Liaise with a cross-functional teams including businessowners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects& testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirementsand project objectives;
• Liaise with the department’s Service Experience team toensure architectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations.
• Liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture toensure alignment to target architectures and technology;
• Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation –testing, continuous integration and deployment.
• Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicableto cloud platforms – re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, opendata/access over siloed functionality.
• Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions alignwith the DTA’s Digital Service Standard.
• Be strategic, a leader and influencer.
• Undertake additional duties as required.

Essential Criteria1. Cloud experience:Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementationwith technologies including:

• Azure DevOps for code development, management, repositories,Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments
  
• Integrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems,including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
  
• Azure networking, security and identity managementcapabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role BasedAccess Control
• Ability to work with geographically

dispersed teams

• Ability to work withtechnical and non-technical staff at all levels.
• Ability

to collaborate and mentor team members to promote team harmony

3. Agile:

• Experience working with Agile Multi-disciplinary

teams to deliver secure, user friendly and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business expectations.

• Ability to pragmatically change direction and scope as new

information is discovered and challenges or opportunities present themselves

4. Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies. The Cloud Architect/Engineer will:

• Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level

architectures for MS-Azure.

• Provide impact analysis and technical guidance in design and

development of project workaligned with WoG Standards

• Demonstrated trackrecord of technical leadership across project and operational tasks
• Demonstratedexperience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and
• Demonstrated experience in application and integration, orinfrastructure platform
• Minimum 3 years’experience designing and documenting architectures for large,
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but notessential.
