Job summary

Archdiocese of Brisbane’s Catholic Early EdCare is seeking a Casual Educator for St Francis Xavier OSHC in Runaway Bay. You will join a dedicated team caring for primary school-aged children before and after school and during vacation care.

The role focuses on nurturing, safety, and engaging activities that promote growth in a supportive environment. Experience with play-based learning, strong communication, and a current Blue Card are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Desirable but not essential Certificate III or Diploma in Children Services.
• Must hold or be progressing toward Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Knowledge of National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place, or Early Years Learning Framework and National Law/Regulations or ability to acquire

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing care for children.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
• Create fun recreational and educational experiences.
• Work with the team to ensure best outcomes for children and families.
• Attend excursions during vacation care when offered.

At St Francis Xavier Outside School Hours Care, we offer before school care, after school care, and vacation care for up to 120 children. We’re looking for enthusiastic and energetic educators who are committed to supporting primary school-aged children’s development, ensuring they learn, have fun, and feel safe every day.

Position: Casual Educator (varied hours)

A day in the life of an OSHC Educator…

Job Requirements:

• Certificate III or Diploma in Children Services (or working towards) or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines would be desirable but not essential
• Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• A passion for the education and care of school aged children in a play-based environment
• Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place or Early Years Learning framework and National Law/Regulations or ability to acquire
• Effective oral and written communication within the workplace
