Job summary

St Mary's OSHC, Maryborough, operated by Catholic Early EdCare, is seeking a casual Educator to join our team. You will provide before/after school and vacation care with a focus on safe, engaging activities for children aged school-age.

We value warm, nurturing approaches, teamwork, and flexibility. There is potential to support other OSHC services in the Hervey Bay region and to step into an RP role as you grow.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services or ACECQA approved equivalent is desirable or essential.
• Current QueenslandBlue Card (WWCC) for Working with Children.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Mandatory Child Protection (Geccko) Course 1 & 2 completed.
• Passion for education and care of school-aged children in a play-based setting.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, nurturing care before school, after school, and during vacation care.
• Create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all children.
• Design and deliver fun, inclusive recreational and educational experiences.
• Maintain positive working relationships with the team.
• Participate in excursions and events during vacation care.
• Support additional OSHC services and, when needed, step into an RP role.

Join Our Team at St Mary's OSHC, Maryborough!

Opened in 2017, St Mary's Outside School Hours Care is located on the beautiful grounds of St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Maryborough. We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and caring casual Educator to join our dedicated team!

We work closely with the school and parish communities to ensure the greatest outcomes for each child, caring for up to 45 children in our dedicated OSHC space, with access to the school hall and oval. For the right candidate, there is also flexibility to support our other OSHC services across the Hervey Bay region, as well as the opportunity to step into a Responsible Person (RP) role - making this a fantastic option for an experienced educator looking to take the next step in their career.

A Day in the Life of an OSHC Educator...

Job Requirements:

• Hold (or are working towards) a Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services or an ACECQA approved equivalent - desirable but essential
• Previous childcare or OSHC experience is beneficial
• Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Mandatory Child Protection (Geccko) Course 1 & 2 required - Course 3 & 4 optional but highly regarded
• A passion for the education and care of school-aged children in a play-based environment
• Effective oral and written communication skills within the workplace
• Willingness to support additional OSHC services across the Hervey Bay region and step into an RP role when required is a strong advantage
