Job summary

Paterson Valley Community Preschool is seeking a full‑time, permanent Educator (Certificate III or Diploma) to work 5 days per week. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a high‑quality early childhood program that reflects our philosophy, values, and policies.

As a key member of our collaborative teaching team, the Educator will help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children aged 3–5.

Qualifications

• A Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA‑approved where applicable).
• Ability to observe, document and assess children's learning and development.
• Current WWCC clearance and relevant child protection training.
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Commitment to NSW Child Safe Standards and inclusive practice.

Paterson Valley Community Preschool is a not‑for‑profit, 27‑place preschool located on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua People. We operate during school terms (41 weeks per year) from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm and are managed by a dedicated parent management committee and an experienced director. As an Exceeding service, we are committed to maintaining high‑quality practice and meaningful, responsive relationships with children, families, and our wider community.

Our program is guided by our philosophy, the EYLF, and a strong connection to our natural environment. We provide a nurturing, play‑rich, inquiry‑based learning environment that supports each child holistically.

The Role

Paterson Valley Community Preschool is seeking a full‑time, permanent Educator (Certificate III or Diploma) to work 5 days per week. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a high‑quality early childhood program that reflects our philosophy, values, and policies.

As a key member of our collaborative teaching team, the Educator will help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children aged 3–5.

A recognised Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification

Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standard, the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations

Strong understanding of the approved learning framework,Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, including its principles, practices and learning outcomes

Ability to observe, document and assess children’s learning and development, and to use this information to create responsive individual and group planning

Current verified Working with Children Check clearance.

Current approved First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications

Current child protection training relevant to early childhood education and care in NSW, with a commitment to completing any required refresher or additional training.

Demonstrated commitment to the NSW Child Safe Standards.

A professional, reliable and ethical approach, with the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative team culture
