Job summary

Trinity College in Adelaide seeks an Education Support Officer to provide classroom support across all year levels at our six schools. Roles may be fixed term, full-time, part-time or casual with opportunities in 2026 and 2027.

You will partner with teachers to support learning and wellbeing, maintain records and contribute to a caring, inclusive education aligned with our Anglican tradition. A WWCC and RRHAN-EC Masterclass certification are required or obtainable before commencement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted learning and wellbeing support to students across year levels.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement effective learning adjustments.
  • Model positive behaviours to build confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Assist in preparing resources and monitoring student progress.
  • Contribute to a culture of care, inclusion and belonging in Trinity College.

Job description

Trinity College is a multi-site, independent, co-educational Anglican College founded in a liberal educational tradition in northern Adelaide. This is a great opportunity for motivated, professional and flexible people to fill the role of Education Support Officer, providing classroom support across all year levels in any of the six schools within Trinity College. These roles may be fixed term, full-time, part-time or casual with potential opportunities in 2026 and 2027.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Make a meaningful contribution to students’ lives by providing targeted learning and wellbeing support that helps them to engage, progress and thrive.
  • Partner with teachers to implement effective learning strategies and adjustments that meet the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of students.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience and independence by modelling positive behaviours and supporting students to develop essential life and learning skills.
  • Contribute to high-quality learning programs through the preparation of resources, classroom support activities and effective monitoring of student progress.
  • Be an active and valued member of our College community by contributing to a culture of care, inclusion and belonging while upholding the values and expectations of Trinity College.
What you will need to succeed:
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their personal, social educational goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff.
  • Patience, empathy and adaptability, enabling you to confidently support students with diverse learning and wellbeing needs.
  • An understanding of inclusive education practices, or a willingness to learn, including strategies that support students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to follow direction, manage priorities, maintain accurate records and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and RRHAN-EC Masterclass certification (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement), together with a demonstrated commitment to child safety, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training (onsite training available)
  • Hold (or be undertaking) a Certificate III in School Based Education Support or higher relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice
