Job summary

Independent Schools NSW is seeking an Education Consultant for Teaching and Learning in PDHPE 7–12. The role focuses on designing, developing and delivering professional learning and advisory services to support schools across NSW and ACT in embedding a whole‑school approach to consent and respectful relationships education.

Responsibilities include facilitating consultations, delivering remote and in‑person sessions, and providing expert guidance to implement new syllabus documents and improve

Qualifications

• Master’s qualifications will be viewed favourably.
• Recent experience (at least five years) in teaching and/or leadership in secondary settings.
• Experience building professional relationships in diverse settings.
• Deep understanding of respectful relationships education, including consent and prevention of gender-based violence, and translating this into practical whole‑school approaches.
• Strong consulting and advisory skills enabling quick rapport and practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver professional learning programs grounded in adult learning principles to strengthen school leaders and teachers.
• Deliver the Respectful Relationships: Proactive Education initiative in collaboration with other consultants to support whole-school embedding.
• Provide expert guidance on interpreting and implementing NSW PDHPE 7-12 syllabuses tailored to each school’s philosophy and structure.
• Develop high‑quality curriculum resources, frameworks and tools to strengthen teaching and learning.
