Job summary

ARB Earthmoving Repairs Pty is seeking an experienced Earthmoving Mechanic / Field Service Technician to service a range of earthmoving equipment across Newcastle, Maitland and the Hunter Valley. You’ll perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs, supported by a modern workshop and a dedicated team.

The ideal candidate is trade-qualified (Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic), with hands-on experience and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Plant Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Experience with earthmoving or construction equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your jobs.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis.
• Servicing and repairs on earthmoving and heavy plant machinery.
• Field breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
• Managing your jobs efficiently and professionally.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and presentation.
• Building strong relationships with our customers.

The Role

You’ll be working across Newcastle, Maitland and the Hunter Valley, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs and breakdown support on a wide range of earthmoving equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis
• Servicing and repairs on earthmoving and heavy plant machinery
• Field breakdowns and preventative maintenance
• Managing your jobs efficiently and professionally
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and presentation
• Building strong relationships with our customers

What We’re Looking For

• Trade-qualified Plant Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Experience with earthmoving or construction equipment
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your jobs
• Reliable, motivated and professional attitudePride in your workmanship, equipment and presentation
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Full Australian working rights

Highly regarded but not essential:

• 3+ years post-trade experience
• Hydraulic and auto electrical experience
• OEM diagnostic experience
• Additional industry licences or tickets
