Job summary

face2face Recruitment is seeking a Python-focused Geospatial Data Scientist to contribute to Earth Observation research supporting Antarctic science. The role develops scalable data pipelines and cloud-based analytics using Python and AWS, processing optical and SAR data, and delivering analysis-ready products for environmental monitoring.

Qualifications

• Strong software development skills with Python
• Experience with Earth Observation, remote sensing or geospatial datasets
• Knowledge of image processing, classification and ML workflows
• Experience with optical imagery and/or SAR data
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and DevOps practices
• Proficiency with Pandas, NumPy, Xarray and geospatial data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable Earth Observation data processing workflows
• Build and maintain cloud-based geospatial analytics solutions
• Design and implement robust Python-based data science applications
• Process optical and SAR satellite datasets
• Integrate geospatial systems, analytical tools and automated pipelines
• Produce high-quality, maintainable and well-documented code
