As our Centre Director, you will work alongside the Head of Junior School to bring to life a forward-thinking, nurturing environment where children flourish through curiosity, creativity, and connection alongside overseeing the existing onsite OSHC Service. This is a unique opportunity to establish a new centre, lead a talented team, and foster meaningful partnerships with families and the wider community.

If you’re ready to make a lasting impact in a growing and innovative school community, we would love to hear from you. Bring your expertise, vision and heart to Silkwood, where every child’s educational journey begins with care, creativity, and a sense of wonder.

About the opportunity

As the Centre Director, you will partner with the head of Junior School to translate Silkwood’s vision, values and educational philosophy into the foundation of Silkwood Early Years, where the journey begins.

You will be responsible for the overall leadership and operation of both the Early Years and OSHC centres, ensuring excellence across educational programs, team performance, family engagement, compliance, safety, and quality standards.

You will be a visible and inspiring leader who nurtures a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and genuine care for children, families and colleagues.

We are Looking for Someone Who Demonstrates:

A Child-Centred Approach:A deep commitment to personalised, play-based learning that recognises and nurtures each child’s unique strengths, interest and potential.

Proven Leadership: The ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams while creating an environment where people feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.

A Passion for Creativity and Exploration: A genuine belief in fostering children’s sense of self through nature-based learning, creativity, the arts, and imaginative thinking.

Collaborative Partnerships: Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to working collaboratively with educators, families, children and the broader community through respectful and open communication.

Exceptional Program Management & Operational Excellence: The ability to effectively plan, resource, organise and manage learning environments and programs that enhance children’s experiences and outcomes.

Silkwood is a special place to work, and we want you to leave each day knowing your work matters and feeling proud of the difference you make in the lives of children and families.

Our ambition is simple: we want our people to say that Silkwood is the best place they have ever worked.

Reward and Recognition Program: Participate in ourSTAR Program, recognising and celebrating the people who make moments that matter for those who matter.
