Aurora School in Blackburn South is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf to join the Early Intervention program and deliver individualized education for deaf children aged 0 to 6. The role requires collaboration with families and a multidisciplinary team to support language development and communication skills.

You will work with teachers, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and Deaf educators to provide inclusive, family-centered teaching across statewide services.

Qualificações

• Proven experience with deaf or hard-of-hearing children aged birth to 6 years.
• Knowledge of VEYLDF, VTLM 2.0 or willingness to develop.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families and work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience planning and evaluating individualised programs for deaf children.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Auslan or willingness to undertake training.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.

Responsabilidades

• Support families and provide individual education programs for young deaf children in line with the Family Partnership Model.
• Collaborate with colleagues and families in developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to support outcomes for all children.
• Collaborate with colleagues and families in the regular assessment, review and evaluation of the child's development and progress and maintain appropriate records on an ongoing basis through written and oral reports.
• Work as a member of a collaborative team.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, in line with the school's AIP and Strategic Plan.
• Support the establishment and operation of networks that enhance the provision of services to deaf children and their families.
• Other duties as required by the Principal.
