Department of Education Victoria – Sunshine VIC is seeking an Education Support class member to assist teachers, coordinate support tasks, and provide Auslan communication support for deaf and hard-of-hearing learners within an inclusive classroom.

You will work under supervision to support students, families, and staff, contributing to a warm, collaborative school culture and high-quality learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with guidelines and frameworks.
• Ability to coordinate and support others in work functions within a team.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Commitment to professional learning and growth.
• Ability to communicate effectively with adults and students using Auslan.

Responsabilités

• Provides routine support for teachers including assisting with planning of student routines
• Supports communication between teachers and parents
• Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities
• Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals, and lifting
• Provides specialised communication support for students and teachers in AUSLAN and braille
