Job Description

VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced and motivated Early Childhood Teacher to join our client's business, Grow with Me Childcare, in Greenacre, NSW.

Our client offers a professional, supportive and nurturing working environment and a rewarding opportunity for the right candidate. About the Role The successful applicant will plan, organise and conduct developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support young children's social, emotional, intellectual, language, literacy, numeracy and physical development.

Working within the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF), the role will involve creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that supports children's development and prepares them for the transition to formal schooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organise and conduct developmentally appropriate learning experiences across indoor and outdoor environments using a variety of materials and equipment
  • Design engaging, play-based activities that support children's motor skills, social interaction, confidence, creativity and overall development
  • Promote language and literacy development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, music and informal discussions
  • Introduce foundational numeracy, literacy, music, art and literature concepts appropriate to children's developmental stages
  • Observe, assess and record children's developmental progress, learning outcomes and wellbeing
  • Monitor children's health, safety, nutrition and emotional wellbeing and communicate relevant concerns with families and appropriate professionals
  • Identify developmental concerns or additional needs and develop appropriate individualised learning and support activities
  • Build strong and respectful relationships with children and their families, sharing observations, progress, goals and achievements
  • Attend and contribute to parent interviews, staff meetings, committee meetings, community programs and other collaborative activities
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment in accordance with the EYLF, NQF and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Supervise and mentor student teachers on placement and provide guidance to support their professional development
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to children's learning, development, wellbeing and educational programs
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements -Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, or an equivalent initial teacher education qualification recognised by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and accredited by the relevant Australian education authority

  • Minimum one year's relevant experience in an early childhood teaching role
  • Current
Working with Children Check (WWCC) and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Valid
First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis, and Child Protection certifications, or willingness to obtain
  • Teacher accreditation with NESA, or eligibility to obtain accreditation
  • Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning and early childhood education practices
  • Sound knowledge of the
Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, document and evaluate educational programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with children, families and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • A warm, patient, creative and nurturing approach to working with young children
  • Commitment to children's safety, wellbeing, inclusion and learning
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
Desirable
  • Experience working in a long day care or similar early childhood education setting
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs or diverse learning requirements
  • Experience mentoring student teachers or supporting educators in professional practice
  • Familiarity with child development documentation, observations and educational programming

Hours: Full-time, minimum 38 hours per week, with reasonable additional and flexible hours where required by business operations. Salary: $86,500.00 per annum plus 12% superannuation Location: 44/46 Norfolk Road, Greenacre, NSW 2190
