About the Role
We are seeking a Child Care Worker / Early Childhood Teacher to support children's care, learning and development. Duties will reflect the appointed role and qualifications.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide active supervision and maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment during indoor and outdoor activities and daily routines.
- Prepare and conduct age-appropriate educational and recreational activities with the education team, including storytelling, songs, games, music and creative play, to support children's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
- Encourage communication, cooperation, positive behaviour and independence through respectful interactions and guidance.
- Support children with meals, hygiene, toileting and rest routines according to their age and individual needs.
- Observe and document children's interests, learning, development and wellbeing; share observations with the education team and promptly report concerns through service procedures.
- Assist in preparing educational materials and equipment and maintain safe, clean and organised indoor and outdoor activity areas.
- Build positive relationships with families and communicate about children's daily experiences, progress and individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and follow service policies, child-safe practices, health and safety procedures, and applicable early childhood education and care requirements.
- Planning, implementing and evaluating an educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), including structured indoor and outdoor experiences using varied materials and equipment.
- Using intentional teaching and independent, small-group and teacher-directed experiences to develop early language, literacy, numeracy, creative expression, music, problem-solving, motor skills and cooperative social skills.
- Assessing children's learning and developmental progress, identifying factors affecting participation, and adapting teaching plans to individual strengths and needs and readiness for school.
- Discussing learning goals and progress with families and contributing to reflective teaching practice and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and experience:
- Child Care Worker: ACECQA-approved Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or recognised equivalent.
- ECT: ACECQA-approved early childhood teaching qualification and current NESA accreditation.
- Relevant early childhood experience; ECT applicants require program planning and teaching skills. Minimum experience: 2 years
- Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- Current approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications.

Salary: AUD 80,000 - 90,000 per annum plus superannuation
