Job summary

Surf Coast Secondary College in Torquay is seeking experienced classroom teachers to deliver engaging learning across key curriculum areas. The role focuses on planning, preparation and delivering programs to achieve strong student outcomes.

Candidates will use high-quality teaching strategies, monitor progress with data, and collaborate with staff, families and the wider school community to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies guided by how students learn.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning with data-informed feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families and colleagues.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
• Engage in critical reflection to improve knowledge and practice.
• Contribute to school policies, priorities and professional learning.
• Support diverse learners and use data to inform teaching.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers where applicable.
• Undertake non-teaching duties as required.
