Sunshine Coast Airport invites applications for a part-time Duty Terminal Coordinator on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with extension potential. The role supports frontline terminal operations, across day and night shifts, 7 days a week, reporting to the Coordinator - Terminal Operations.

This is a hands-on position focused on delivering exceptional passenger experiences. Key duties include coordinating daily terminal activities, liaising with airlines and service partners, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a live environment.
• Experience coordinating day-to-day terminal operations.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance and incident response.
• Effective communication, reporting and systems proficiency.
• Aviation/airport terminal experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sustainable daily terminal operations.
• Act as a single point of coordination between teams and stakeholders.
• Assist with queue management and performance reporting.
• Support day-to-day operational activities across shifts.
• Respond to safety or medical incidents and act as Chief Warden during hours.
• Engage with airlines, ground handling, screening, cleaners and kerbside teams.

Working in our frontline terminal team to deliver an exceptional customer and passenger experience we are now taking applications for a part‑time Duty Terminal Coordinator on a 6 month, fixed‑term contract with extension, to commence as soon as possible. Please note this is a shift worker engagement, working across 7 days, both day and night shifts.

Reporting to the Coordinator - Terminal Operations, the Duty Terminal Coordinator is responsible for coordinating sustainable daily operations and the continuity of service delivery, with a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience at Sunshine Coast Airport. This role ensures the safe and efficient allocation of airport operating assets and the coordination of daily operational activities. This role provides a single point of coordination between airport operational teams and key stakeholders, and is accountable for promoting a culture of operational excellence and upholding our core values, vision and mission.

What you will do:

• Enhance the passenger experience
• Monitor and report on queue management and performance
• Coordinate and liaise with external stakeholders such as airlines, ground handling partners, screening, cleaning, and kerbside
• Report periodically for operational service delivery data
• Coordinate the day-to-day terminal operations
• Act as a first responder for all safety and medical incidents, as well as act as the Chief Warden during operational hours

What experience you will need:

• Stakeholder management and relationship building with various stakeholders
• Operational coordination of a live operational environment, preferably in a regulated environment
• Customer service and problem-solving skills
• Safety, compliance and risk management, including incident response and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Communication, reporting and systems proficiency
• Previous airport terminal or aviation experience highly regarded
