Job summary

Australian Venue Co is seeking proactive Duty Managers to lead operations across Darwin venues. You will drive guest experiences, oversee service standards and mentor front-of-house teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

This role offers exposure to busy lunch services, sporting events, live music and late-night trading. Candidates will have 1–2 years in hospitality leadership, strong customer service skills, and a proven ability to lead under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Duty Manager, Supervisor or similar hospitality leadership role.
• 1–2 years in fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong bar and customer service experience with leadership ability.
• Experience in late-night venues, gaming or high-volume bars preferred.
• Willingness to obtain relevant licences and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across food, beverage and gaming.
• Deliver outstanding guest experiences while maintaining service standards.
• Coach and motivate front-of-house teams.
• Open/close venue, including late-night trading when required.
• Assist labour management, venue presentation and compliance.
• Manage cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation and reporting.
• Resolve customer inquiries professionally.
• Collaborate with Venue Manager to drive success.

Whether you're an experienced Duty Manager or a hospitality supervisor ready to take the next step, we have opportunities across our Darwin venues to suit different levels of leadership experience. Our venues are known for their vibrant atmosphere, busy bars, quality food offering, gaming, live entertainment and late-night trade. From bustling lunch services and major sporting events to live music and late-night crowds, no two shifts are the same. What You'll Be Doing

• Leading day‑to‑day venue operations across food, beverage and gaming.
• Delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high service standards.
• Coaching, developing and motivating front‑of‑house teams.
• Opening and closing the venue, including late‑night trading where required.
• Supporting labour management, venue presentation and operational compliance.
• Managing cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation and venue reporting.
• Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally.
• Working closely with the Venue Manager to drive operational success.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Supervisor or similar hospitality leadership role.
• At least 1-2 years' hospitality experience in a fast‑paced food and beverage environment.
• Strong bar and customer service experience with the confidence to lead busy service periods.
• Experience in late‑night venues, gaming operations or high‑volume bars will be highly regarded.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and the drive to build a long‑term career.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and confidence making decisions under pressure.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and late‑night closes (where required).
• Current NT RSA certificate.
• Current NT Gaming Machine Licence is highly regarded (or willingness to obtain).
