Job summary

Belgravia Leisure in Torquay invites applications for a Duty Manager to oversee safety, evacuation and daily operations of the stadium and hospitality areas in the absence of the Centre Manager.

The role expands to aquatic operations at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre from early 2027, with casual shifts across mornings, evenings and weekends. Belgravia Health & Leisure Group supports your development and community impact.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience to guide multiple teams.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
• Sound knowledge of work health and safety guidelines, evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Demonstrated experience with plant room management and pool operations.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Current First Aid (Level 2) & CPR certificates.
• Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate and Pool Operations Certificate.

This is a great opportunity for qualified, friendly and skilled Duty Manager to join the team and lead our stadium and aquatics teams!

The Role

The Duty Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee the safety, evacuation and operation of the entire centre in the absence of the Centre Manager and to direct day to day activities of the café, aquatics, health club, sports programmes, private hires, events and customer service staff.

For suitable candidates this position will expand to cover aquatic operations at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation centre upon commencement of pool operations in early 2027. In the interim, the Duty Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the existing stadium.

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong leadership experience with an ability to inspire others
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislative guidelines, evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Demonstrated experience of plant room management and Pool operations is essential
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
• Current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR Certificate
