Job summary

Belgravia Leisure in Torquay, VIC, invites applications for a Duty Manager to oversee the safety, evacuation, and overall operation of the centre in the Centre Manager's absence. You will direct daily activities across cafe, aquatics, health club, sports programmes, private hires, events and customer service staff.

Suitable candidates will expand to aquatic operations at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre from early 2027, while the interim focus remains on stadium operations.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience with ability to inspire others
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of work health and safety guidelines, evacuation and emergency procedures
• Demonstrated experience of plant room management and pool operations is essential
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
• Current First Aid Level 2 & CPR
• Working with Children check
• National Police Check clearance
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Current Pool Operations Certificate

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, evacuation and operation of the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager
• Direct day-to-day activities of the café, aquatics, health club, sports programmes, private hires, events and customer service staff
• Prepare for expansion to aquatic operations at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation centre in early 2027
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the existing stadium in the interim

This is a great opportunity for qualified, friendly and skilled Duty Manager to join the team and lead our stadium and aquatics teams!

The Role

The Duty Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee the safety, evacuation and operation of the entire centre in the absence of the Centre Manager and to direct day to day activities of the café, aquatics, health club, sports programmes, private hires, events and customer service staff.

For suitable candidates this position will expand to cover aquatic operations at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation centre upon commencement of pool operations in early 2027. In the interim, the Duty Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the existing stadium.
