Taz Drone Solutions seeks a Software Engineer to design and implement payload integration and UI tooling for in‑house drone platforms in Tasmania. You will work with cross‑disciplinary teams to build seamless interfaces between flight control systems and hardware, ensuring robust, mission‑critical software.

You will contribute to real‑world drone systems across energy, mining and environmental sectors, with opportunities to participate in field trials, testing, and R&D projects as the company

Competenze

• Must have strong proficiency in QGroundControl.
• UI customization and QML/Qt development.
• Experience with PX4/MAVLink flight systems.
• Experience integrating hardware (sensors, actuators) with software.
• Ability to debug software–hardware interactions in field and lab.

Mansioni

• Develop and customise QGroundControl UI components, plugins, and operator workflows.
• Integrate custom payloads into Auterion, Skynode, PX4, and related flight systems.
• Build and maintain mission‑critical software interfacing with sensors, winches, and on‑board systems.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to translate mechanical/electrical requirements into software behaviors.
• Contribute to testing, flight trials, validation, debugging, and continuous improvement of drone systems.
• Maintain clean, well‑documented code aligned with engineering processes.
• Support production, field operations, and future R&D projects as the company scales globally.
