Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking five DRIVES Tech Lead professionals to guide the ongoing delivery, modernisation and support of the DRIVES Licensing platform. Fixed-term contracts run through to 30 June 2030, offering exposure to regulatory and digitisation initiatives in a large-scale environment.

You will lead technical delivery across the full software lifecycle, mentor teams, and ensure reliable, secure, scalable solutions while collaborating with stakeholders and delivery partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering enterprise software solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong technical design and development experience within complex application environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and influence software delivery outcomes.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting application releases, upgrades, testing, and production deployments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proactive focus on quality, continuous improvement, and technology innovation.
• Ability to balance competing priorities with delivery quality and operational stability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of DRIVES applications and services.
• Provide technical leadership across software delivery and operational support activities.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into robust software designs and specifications.
• Drive software quality through design reviews, standards, testing, and improvements.
• Support releases, deployments, upgrades, and development updates.
• Oversee troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Mentor team members and contribute to capability building.
• Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies to improve performance and delivery.
