Job summary

JC Hire is a locally owned equipment hire company serving builders, trades, landscapers and the public from our Nambour and Maroochydore branches. We are seeking a reliable Driver / Yardsman for the Maroochydore team on a casual basis, delivering and collecting hire equipment and assisting customers.

The role involves loading, securing and transporting equipment, preparing gear for hire, and supporting day-to-day yard operations with a practical, hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Safe and responsible driving history.
• Confidence driving and manoeuvring vehicles on construction sites and customer locations.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling and outdoor work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work without constant supervision.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Hands-on attitude.
• Strong awareness of workplace and road safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver and collect hire equipment to and from customer sites using company vehicles
• Load, secure and unload machinery and equipment safely
• Complete pre-start checks and look after company vehicles
• Provide friendly and professional service when dealing with customers on-site and in the yard
• Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment
• Clean, inspect and prepare hire equipment ready for the next customer
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised yard
• Assist with basic equipment checks and minor maintenance where required
• Support the branch team with general yard duties and day-to-day operations

The Opportunity

JC Hire is a locally owned equipment hire company with a proud 40-year history on the Sunshine Coast. We supply tools, machinery and equipment to builders, trades, landscapers and the general public from our Nambour and Maroochydore branches.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Driver / Yardsman to join our Maroochydore team on a casual basis, working approximately 30–40 hours per week.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving the delivery and collection of hire equipment using our utes, along with assisting customers, preparing equipment for hire and supporting the day-to-day operation of our hire yard.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely deliver and collect hire equipment to and from customer sites using company vehicles

• Load, secure and unload machinery and equipment safely

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Current Australian driver's licence

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and outdoor work

• Reliable, punctual and able to work efficiently without constant supervision

• Good communication and customer service skills

• A practical, hands-on attitude

• Strong awareness of workplace and road safety

Advantageous:

• Forklift Licence (LF)

• Construction White Card

• Previous experience in equipment hire, construction, machinery, transport or a similar industry

• Experience loading, securing and transporting construction equipment and machinery

• Basic mechanical knowledge or experience with tools and machinery
