Job summary

Kinetic Group in Western Australia seeks a Driver Trainer to deliver engaging classroom and on-road training for our bus drivers. You’ll coach, assess performance, and support safety culture while maintaining training records.

Required Cert IV in Training and Assessment. Desirable WHS Cert IV, Driving Operations Cert IV, and hands-on heavy vehicle driver training experience. Immediate start in High Wycombe, WA.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring drivers to improve performance.
• Delivering instructor-led training in classroom and on-road settings.
• Assessing driver competence and providing constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom training sessions for drivers, covering safety and customer service.
• Deliver on-road skills instruction and support participants to gain HR licences.
• Maintain training and HSE data and prepare stakeholder reports.
• Identify hazards via risk assessments and implement improvements.
• Respond to customer feedback and assist in resolving issues to improve service.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role where you'll ensure our people deliver exceptional service to our passengers and customers through outstanding driver training and customer experience support. You'll combine your passion for coaching and development with practical, hands-on training delivery, both in the classroom and on the road.

What You'll Do

• Facilitate engaging classroom training sessions for new and experienced drivers, covering safety, customer service and efficient vehicle operation
• Coordinate and deliver on-road skills instruction, supporting participants to gain their HR licence
• Assess driver competence through practical evaluations and provide constructive, development-focused feedback
• Mentor and support drivers, fostering a positive learning environment and a proactive safety culture
• Maintain accurate training and HSE data, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend improvements
• Handle inbound and outbound customer feedback with empathy and professionalism, keeping accurate records
• Support the Service Delivery team in investigating and resolving customer complaints in line with contractual obligations
• Collaborate with depots, operations and frontline teams to resolve issues and reduce repeat complaints
• Analyse feedback and complaint trends to support continuous service improvement

About You:

Required:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Desirable:

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
• Certificate III in Driving Operations
• Practical experience delivering heavy vehicle driver training, preferably in bus
