Job summary

Nurich Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Drainer to join our civil construction team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will install and maintain below-ground drainage systems and related infrastructure on projects across Gold Coast and South East Queensland.

Role involves reading construction drawings, setting out levels, trenching, connecting pipework, testing systems, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Drainer or in a drainage trade.
• Experience installing below-ground drainage, sewerage or effluent systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience establishing levels, grades and drainage alignments.
• Strong knowledge of trenching and underground pipe installation.
• Relevant trade qualifications or substantial industry experience.
• Current Australian driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Strong understanding of construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install below-ground drainage systems, pipes, fittings and infrastructure.
• Install sewerage and effluent drainage systems.
• Study drawings/plans/specifications to determine layouts and materials.
• Set out drainage systems to required levels/grades.
• Excavate trenches for drainage installation.
• Install ground support systems and connect pipework.
• Test drainage systems for correct operation.
• Identify and rectify drainage faults and blockages.
• Maintain and repair drainage systems.
• Work safely around underground services.
• Coordinate with excavator operators and civil crew.
• Complete works per project specs, safety requirements and quality standards.

Nurich Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Drainer to join our civil construction team on a full-time basis.

Nurich is an established civil infrastructure contractor delivering underground utility, telecommunications and civil construction projects across Australia.

We are looking for an experienced tradesperson with demonstrated experience installing and maintaining below-ground drainage systems and associated infrastructure.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for duties including:

• Installing below-ground drainage systems, pipes, fittings and associated infrastructure
• Installing sewerage and effluent drainage systems
• Studying construction drawings, plans and specifications to determine drainage layouts and materials required
• Setting out drainage systems in accordance with required levels and grades
• Excavating and preparing trenches for drainage installation
• Installing associated ground support systems
• Connecting drainage pipework and associated fittings
• Testing installed drainage systems to ensure correct operation
• Identifying and rectifying drainage faults and blockages where required
• Undertaking maintenance and repairs to below-ground drainage systems
• Working safely around existing underground services
• Coordinating with excavator operators and other civil construction personnel
• Completing works in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements and quality standards

Skills & Experience

Applicants should have:

• Demonstrated experience working as a Drainer or in a directly related drainage trade
• Experience installing below-ground drainage, sewerage or effluent systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience establishing levels, grades and drainage alignments
• Strong knowledge of trenching and underground pipe installation
• Relevant trade qualifications or substantial relevant industry experience
• Current Australian driver's licence or ability to obtain one
• Strong understanding of construction safety requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a civil construction crew

Relevant drainage registration, licensing and civil construction tickets will be highly regarded and must be held where required for the work being performed.

Employment Details

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week

Salary: [$100,000.00] + superannuation

Location: Gold Coast / South East Queensland, with travel to project locations as required
