Job summary

D Byrne Civil is seeking a Drainer to join our team in Elderslie, NSW. The role installs and maintains below‑ground drainage systems, reads drawings and supports trench works on site.

Permanent full‑time position (38 hours+ per week) with salary AU$75,000–$85,000 plus super. Requires AQF Certificate III (or 3+ years' experience). Safety and quality on site are essential.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or equivalent on‑the‑job training; or three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Experience on drainage installations, de-watering, and reading technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and installing drainage systems.
• Performing site drainage and de-watering procedures.
• Locating and clearing blockages.
• Excavating and levelling to line, depth and grade.
• Installation of excavation supports.
• Interpreting technical drawings.
• Excavation for manholes and pits.

Job Objective: The Drainer installs, maintains and designs below-ground drainage systems and associated sewerage or effluent disposal systems. Job Tasks and Duties:

• Setting out and installing drainage systems
• Performing site drainage and de-watering procedures
• Locating and clearing blockages
• Excavating and levelling to line, depth and grade
• Installation of Excavation supports
• Interpreting technical drawings
• Excavation for manholes
• Construction of concrete pits
• Compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements
• Use of pressure testing equipment, excavators, jackhammers, compaction machinery, compressors, backhoes and dumpers
