• Repair or replace damaged pipes and drainage components.
• Complete backfilling and site reinstatement as required.
• Work with supervisors and other trades to complete projects safely.

About the role

DCV Plant and Civil is seeking a skilled and reliable Drainer to join our team in Western Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing underground drainage systems for civil construction projects, including roads and other infrastructure works. This role requires strong practical drainage skills, attention to detail and the ability to work safely in an outdoor construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans, drawings and drainage specifications.
• Set out drainage systems, ensuring correct pipe alignment, levels and gradients.
• Prepare trenches and lay, join and secure drainage pipes.
• Install stormwater and sewerage drainage systems, pits and associated fittings.
• Inspect and test drainage systems to identify leaks, blockages and other faults.
• Repair or replace damaged pipes and drainage components.
• Complete backfilling and site reinstatement in accordance with project requirements.
• Work with supervisors, plant operators and other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Skills and experience

• Relevant qualifications and practical experience in drainage installation and repair.
• Current licences or registrations required for the work undertaken.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and drainage specifications.
• Experience working on civil construction sites.
