Job summary

Remote Water Treatment Services is seeking an experienced Draftsman to join our team in Wynnum West, QLD. You will translate engineering concepts into precise drawings and documentation to support water treatment projects.

You will work with our engineering team to produce high-quality drafting outputs, ensuring accuracy, standards compliance and timely project delivery. This full-time role requires strong CAD skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Draftsman or similar role in water treatment/utilities/industrial sectors.
• Advanced CAD proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing conventions and Australian standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and technical documentation.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering Drafting or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed hydraulic drawings and schematics for water treatment systems using CAD.
• Interpret specifications to develop accurate, compliant design documentation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to meet specs and standards.

Remote Water Treatment Services is seeking an experienced Draftsman to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Wynnum West, QLD 4178. As a Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in translating engineering concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. You will work closely with our engineering team to produce high-quality drafting outputs that support the design and implementation of water treatment solutions. This position is fundamental to ensuring the accuracy and clarity of our technical documentation and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

Create detailed hydraulic technical drawings, and schematics for water treatment systems and related infrastructure using CAD software

Interpret engineering specifications and requirements to develop accurate and compliant design documentation

Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and industry standards

Review and revise drawings based on feedback and engineering changes

Maintain comprehensive drawing libraries and ensure proper version control and documentation management

Prepare assembly drawings, installation guides and maintenance documentation

Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, codes and regulatory requirements

Support the preparation of tender documentation and technical proposals

Communicate effectively with team members to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related issues

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Draftsman or in a similar engineering drafting role, preferably within the water treatment, utilities or industrial sectors

Advanced proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar industry-standard tools)

Strong understanding of engineering drawing conventions, standards and best practices

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation

Knowledge of relevant Australian standards and codes applicable to water treatment systems and infrastructure

Excellent attention to detail with strong accuracy and quality control mindset

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work as part of an engineering team

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines

Diploma or tertiary qualification in Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred: Experience with water treatment systems, hydraulic design or infrastructure projects

Preferred: Familiarity with 3D modelling and parametric design tools
