Job summary

Lead Group in Sydney, Australia, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their architectural metalwork team. 5+ years' experience required; review drawings, perform take-offs and deliver accurate pricing and tender submissions for commercial and architectural projects.

You will collaborate with clients, builders, architects, suppliers and internal project teams, maintaining estimating records and supporting tender negotiations to secure profitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating within architectural metalwork.

• Experience with tenders and pricing.
• Knowledge of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
• Experience across products such as balustrades, handrails, stairs, screens, feature metalwork, canopies and miscellaneous metalwork.

Job description

An established and growing architectural metalwork business is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for an Estimator with 5+ years' experience in architectural metalwork who understands the full process from reviewing drawings and completing take-offs through to pricing and tender submission.

You’ll work across a variety of commercial and architectural projects, partnering closely with clients, builders, architects, suppliers and internal project and production teams.

About the Role

• Estimating and pricing architectural metalwork projects from tender through to award
• Reviewing architectural, structural and engineering drawings
• Completing accurate material and quantity take-offs
• Pricing materials, labour, fabrication, finishing, installation and subcontractor costs
• Preparing detailed quotations and tender submissions
• Identifying scope, exclusions, variations and commercial risks
• Obtaining and negotiating supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Liaising with builders, contractors, architects and clients
• Working closely with Project Management, Production and Contracts teams
• Supporting variations, revised pricing and tender negotiations
• Maintaining accurate estimating and pricing records

About You

• 5+ years' experience estimating within architectural metalwork
• Strong knowledge of architectural fabrication and installation
• Excellent understanding of architectural and engineering drawings
• Proven experience with take-offs, costing and tender preparation
• Knowledge of materials including stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel
• Experience across products such as balustrades, handrails, stairs, screens, feature metalwork, canopies and miscellaneous metalwork
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project margins
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
• Good Excel and estimating/software skills
