Job summary

Downer Professional Services seeks a Deputy Sustainment Project Manager to support the delivery and ongoing availability of a critical Defence capability based in Adelaide. You will contribute to planning, reporting, and stakeholder coordination with Defence product teams and industry partners.

The role offers exposure to complex Defence environments, senior stakeholders and long-term capability programs, enabling you to develop your project management and sustainment expertise.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting projects, sustainment activities or complex programs within Defence, Government or industry environments.
• Strong organisational, planning and coordination skills.
• Experience preparing reports, briefs and stakeholder communications.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of sustainment activities across a complex Defence capability.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of project planning, reporting and performance management processes.
• Monitor project schedules, risks, issues and financial performance.
• Prepare briefs, reports, correspondence and committee submissions to support decision-making.

WhatYou’llDo

As a Deputy Sustainment Project Manager, you will support the day-to-day coordination of sustainment activities that ensure critical Defence capability remainsavailable,effectiveand fit forpurpose.Workingclosely with Defence product teams, industrypartnersand technical specialists,you’llcontribute to planning, reporting,financial managementand stakeholder coordination activities that support successful capability outcomes.

This role offers exposure to complex Defence environments, senior stakeholders and long-term capability programs while providing opportunities to further develop your project management and sustainmentexpertise.

This role offers a broad scope, with keyroleresponsibilities include:
