Job summary

Queensland Fire Department in Maryborough is seeking a Permanent Full-time Superintendent role to oversee District Operations. You will lead Area Operations teams, coordinate volunteers and brigades, and drive prevention, preparedness, response and recovery across the district.

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Officer District, you will manage assets, budget, and risk, provide operational guidance, and support community protection through bushfire management and education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must meet the mandatory requirements as outlined in the generic RFSQ Superintendent role description.
• Experience in or knowledge of managing a volunteer environment.
• Knowledge of resource management appropriate to volunteers for prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and coordinate RFSQ operations during large-scale multi-agency incidents and disasters within the District.
• Oversee management and purchasing of district operational assets, through financial management best practice.
• Oversee resources to ensure general operational capacity and capability across the District.
• Represent RFSQ at a District level during complex major incidents with focus on impacts on the local community.
• Provide District input into capability planning and contribute to execution of district-wide programs.
