Job summary

Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Ballarat invites a Qualified Motor Mechanic to join our workshop. You will conduct preventative, corrective maintenance and approved modifications on CFA fleet assets in a clean environment, with all tools, equipment, uniform and PPE supplied.

Hours are 7:30am–4:30pm, Mon–Fri (9-day fortnight). As a Grade 1a District Mechanical Officer, you’ll maintain records, create electronic Work Orders, liaise with Brigade members and report to the OIC, ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Motor Mechanic Qualification and Heavy Rigid Driver Licence required.
• First Aid Level 2 (can be attained within CFA timeframes).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and participate in team discussions.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Experience with maintenance of CFA fleet assets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the workshop OIC, perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications to fleet assets.
• Maintain fleet assets in accordance with CFA maintenance procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed.
• Create electronic Work Orders using CFA software.
• Liaise with Brigade members regarding proposed and completed work.
• Provide reporting to the Officer-in-Charge on maintenance, administrative and technical matters.
• Ensure Industrial Safety Standards are observed.
