Job summary

NSW Rural Fire Service Cumberland/Macarthur District in Western Sydney is seeking an Administration Officer to provide high-quality administrative support in a busy operational environment.

You will coordinate a broad range of activities, manage records, prepare reports, and liaise with staff, volunteers and external stakeholders. The role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to contribute to community safety and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a busy and dynamic operational environment.
  • You will be confident managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records, preparing correspondence and reports, coordinating meetings and supporting day-to-day business activities across the district.
  • You will demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role regularly engages with staff, volunteers, senior officers, local councils and other stakeholders.
  • The successful candidate will be adaptable, proactive and committed to providing high-quality administrative support.
  • Experience working within government, emergency services or a complex operational organisation would be highly regarded, together with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and corporate information management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely and accurate advice on day-to-day administrative requirements, including records and information management, correspondence, customer service, meeting coordination, financial administration, and support to staff and volunteer members.
