Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to oversee a busy dispatch operation and lead a team of five. This hands-on role requires you to spend about 90% of the day on the floor alongside the team, with minimal computer duties.

You must be comfortable making on-the-fly decisions, adjusting priorities and reorganising loads as delivery runs change to meet customer demands. A current forklift licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, support and mentor a team of five dispatch and warehouse staff.
• Work on the floor with the team to pick, pack and load finished goods.

• Adapt quickly to changing delivery runs, urgent orders and customer requirements.
• Load rigid and semi-trailer trucks for deliveries to branches.
• Maintain accurate dispatch paperwork and check orders before loading.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Identify improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

This is a very hands‑on role, spending approximately 90% of your day on the floor alongside the team, picking, packing and loading orders. Computer duties are minimal

You must be comfortable making decisions on the fly, adjusting priorities and reorganising loads as delivery runs change to meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, support and mentor a team of five dispatch and warehouse staff
• Work alongside the team on the floor, actively picking, packing and loading finished goods
• Coordinate daily loading schedules to meet delivery deadlines
• Adapt quickly to changing delivery runs, urgent orders and customer requirements
• Load rigid and semi‑trailer trucks for deliveries to branches
• Maintain accurate dispatch paperwork and check orders before loading
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
• Identify improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors

Hours

• Monday to Friday: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Every second Saturday: 7:00 am - 1:00 pm, paid as overtime
