Job summary

vitae group in Melbourne is seeking a capable 2iC to organise the transport run, coordinate delivery with drivers, and provide real-time updates to sites.

You will liaise with warehouse staff and builders, monitor driver performance, and ensure efficient, compliant dispatch in a fast-paced environment. Previous timber/building materials experience is preferred, with strong CRM and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Despatch experience in building materials or timber/hardware preferred.
• Excellent communication with drivers and builders in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service mindset.
• Solid knowledge of Melbourne suburbs to plan efficient runs.
• Leadership experience of at least 3 years.
• Proficient in using CRM systems to drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Organise the transport run and coordinate delivery schedules with driver allocation.
• Monitor driver performance and route efficiency to reduce delays.
• Ensure no truck leaves the yard unchecked and coordinate with warehouse staff.
• Provide real-time updates on deliveries to site and act as the main contact for drivers.
