Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our Melbourne team. Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical engineering across rotating, static and package equipment, HVAC, and developing specifications, data sheets and material requisitions.

You will provide technical bid analysis, answer engineering queries and support early design input, coordinating with other disciplines and clients to deliver assigned projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with at least 5 years' experience, predominantly in Oil & Gas.
• Member of Engineers Australia preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AS 1210 and ASME BPVC.
• Experience in conceptual, FEED, detailed design and studies.
• Able to liaise with other disciplines, project managers and clients' representatives.
• Candidates must have full work rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for functional engineering services across our various projects
• Provide technical support to designers
• Assist in discipline front end and detailed design input to engineering projects
• Assist in executing and coordinating assignments within agreed budget and schedule
• Provide technical guidance and support to the project teams and clients
• Responsible for study, design, specification and services related to the engineering discipline
• Prepare bid clarification questions and handle responses, and coordinate technical aspects of bid clarification meetings

Qualifications

• Must be degree qualified with at least 5 years’ experience, predominantly in the Oil & Gas sector
• Member of Engineers Australia is preferred
• Experienced in engineering design including conceptual, FEED, detailed design and studies
• Capable of communicating and interfacing effectively with other disciplines, project managers, and clients’ representatives
• Must have strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards including AS 1210 and ASME BPVC
• Must have strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards for rotating equipment
