Wood is seeking a Senior Project Engineer based in Brisbane to join a broad project management and engineering team on a permanent contract.

The role focuses on leading project packages within FEED and Execution phases, coordinating with the Senior Project Manager, and delivering safe, on-time EPC/EPCM outcomes for oil and gas projects; RPEQ is preferred and full work rights in Australia are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years direct Project Management or Senior Project Engineer experience managing EPC or EPCM oil and gas related projects.
  • Hands-on and performance driven Senior Project Engineer interfacing with major sub-contractors.
  • RPEQ preferred

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to be based in our Brisbane office on a permanent contract.

The ideal candidate would be part of a broad project management and engineering team supporting the Senior Project Manager.

The position requires management of specific packages including interacting with the Senior Project Manager to ensure a coordinated execution approach for inclusion in FEED and Execution phases of the project. Hands‑on experience with directly managing projects with previous oil and gas service providers would be strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Project manage or provide project engineering support to deliver EPC/EPCM projects from project scoping and initiation, front end design, through detailed design, procurement, construction, hand over and close‑out, including bottom line responsibility for the financial and technical success of the relevant aspects of those projects or part thereof.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management
  • Focus on Statement of Requirements throughout the phasing of the project from concept to detail design
  • Implementation of the company quality management system for the project
  • Interface support in the coordination of major sub‑contractors
Qualifications
What makes you remarkable?
  • Minimum 8 years direct Project Management or Senior Project Engineer experience managing EPC or EPCM oil and gas related projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Demonstrated administration skills necessary to initiate and lead project packages, develop design / implementation schedules, execution methodologies and provide on‑going status reports to the senior management team and clients
  • Hands-on and performance driven Senior Project Engineer in interfacing with major sub‑contractors
  • Experience in marine logistics and interface management an advantage
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety and implementation of strong change management practices
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral
  • RPEQ preferred
