Job summary

Port Stephens Council is seeking an experienced Natural Disaster Recovery Project Manager to lead critical capital works, emergency restoration, and resilience projects from damage assessment to handover, in the Port Stephens region. You will coordinate specialised consultants and contractors to rebuild and future-proof our communities’ assets.

The role requires a Civil Engineering qualification with extensive project management experience and the ability to obtain necessary accreditations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent, combined with extensive experience in a Project Management field.
• Possess or the ability to obtain accreditations and other skills as required by best industry practice or legislation such as current Driver’s licence and Workcover General Construction Induction accreditations

Responsibilities

• Lead council's critical capital works, emergency restoration, and resilience projects from initial damage assessment to final handover.
• Manage specialised consultants and contractors tasked with rebuilding and future-proofing assets.
• Oversee long-term improvements to roads and drainage across the Port Stephens Region.
• Ensure compliance with safety laws and industry standards.
