Job summary

Value Care Limited is seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers for casual roles in Mildura, Victoria. You will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes, SIL environments and the community, promoting independence and dignity.

Ideal candidates have a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) and a passion for helping people live more independently in their communities. Flexible shifts include evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a person-centred approach to support.
  • Experience in disability, aged care, or community services is desirable.
  • Current checks or willingness to obtain (NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC, First Aid/CPR).

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to participants in homes, SIL environments, and community.
  • Assist with daily living activities and personal care as needed.
  • Support participants with household tasks and safe home environments.
  • Facilitate community access, appointments, activities and social outings.

Value Care is a growing NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support to people living with disability.

We provide a range of specialised disability support services, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), community participation, in-home support, Short-Term Accommodation (STA), Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA), respite and complex support services.

We are looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our team across Mildura, Victoria.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support based on each participant's individual needs, preferences and goals.

You may support participants in their homes, within SIL environments and in the community, helping them with everyday activities while promoting independence, dignity and choice.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships and making a positive difference in the lives of people with disability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in line with their individual support plans.
  • Assist participants with daily living activities and personal care where required.
  • Support participants with household tasks and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
  • Provide community access and support participants to attend appointments, activities and social outings.
  • Assist participants to develop and maintain independence in their daily routines.
  • Support participants to achieve their individual NDIS goals.
  • Encourage participation in recreational, social and community activities.
  • Provide support with shopping, appointments and other day-to-day activities.
  • Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and organisational procedures.
  • Support participants with medication-related tasks where appropriately trained and authorised.
  • Monitor and report changes in participant wellbeing, behaviour or circumstances.
  • Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and respect participant privacy, dignity, rights and choices.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, support coordinators and the Value Care team.
  • Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other support workers and members of the Value Care team.
About You

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be calm and professional when managing challenging or unexpected situations.
  • Have good attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Be flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.
Essential Requirements
  • Current Australian Driver Licence – essential.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), Individual Support (Ageing & Disability), Community Services or a relevant qualification or willingness to obtain, depending on the position.
  • Previous experience in disability, aged care, community services or a similar support environment is highly desirable.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain, where applicable.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain.
  • Police Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to provide satisfactory employment references.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
