Brighter Access in Newcastle is seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers for permanent part-time and casual roles in Charlestown and Newcastle. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care to participants with a range of support needs and help them achieve their goals.

Responsibilities include personal care, domestic assistance, meal planning, behaviour support, and contributing to a safe, empowering home environment.

Qualifications

• NDIS worker screening clearance (or willingness to apply).
• Working with Children Clearance (or willingness to apply).
• Current First Aid.
• Driver's Licence with a reliable insured and registered vehicle.
• Targeted training and professional development provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks (showering, hoisting, toileting, continence aids).
• Provide behaviour support aligned with individual plans.

About the Role:Experience is preferred but not essential - for the right candidate, we offer a fast-tracked pathway from casual to permanent part-time employment. Brighter Access is currently looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in the Charlestown, Newcastle areas. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to participants with a range of support needs.

Your responsibilities will include personal care, domestic assistance, and behaviour support, all while helping to create a positive, safe, and empowering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal care tasks, including showering, hoisting, toileting, and continence aids.
• Provide behaviour support in alignment with participant needs and individual plans.
• Help with meal planning and preparation to ensure dietary requirements are met.
• Assist with domestic duties and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Support the participant in achieving their goals, promoting independence where possible.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in personal care and domestic assistance is essential.
• Experience in behaviour support is preferred.
• A passion for helping others and making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience with medication administration and hoisting is highly regarded.
