Job summary

SEQUAL is a not-for-profit disability support provider delivering care across Bald Hills and surrounding Brisbane areas. We are seeking casual, experienced workers to support clients with complex behavioural needs in SIL houses, community and hospital settings.

Roles involve PBS-based de-escalation, incident management, and person-centred support. requirements include First Aid and CPR, a valid driver’s license, and working rights for Australia.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, families and the support team.
• Strong observational skills to recognise distress or escalation and respond promptly.
• Remain calm, patient and emotionally regulated in high-pressure situations.
• Confidently implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and strategies.
• Communicate changes in presentation or incidents to the team with accuracy.
• Reliable and consistent, building trust through professional interactions.
• Team player who supports client dignity, safety and goals.

Responsibilities

• Work with people who have complex behavioural issues, mental health conditions and/or trauma backgrounds.
• Provide support across SIL houses, community and/or hospital environments.
• Manage behaviour escalations and potential aggressive incidents.
• Provide person-centred support and PBS strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist clients to adhere to Mental Health Forensic Orders where required.
