Job summary

McArthur Community Care is a Registered NDIS Provider in Queensland, delivering person-centred supports to maintain independence and social connection. We are seeking Reliable, Enthusiastic, Motivated and Professional Disability Support Workers in the Brisbane Northside area.

As a Disability Support Worker you will assist people with household tasks, skill development, transport to appointments and community participation, while we provide ongoing professional development and above award wages.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
• DSW applicants require NDIS checks and a current WWC check.
• First Aid & CPR certs are required; manual handling certs are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist people to achieve goals in their NDIS plans.
• Perform household tasks including cleaning and laundry.
• Support skill development like shopping, cooking and transport.
• Facilitate social and community participation.

Education

Working with Children Card

NDIS Worker Screening Check

First Aid & CPR

Manual Handling Certificate

As s Disability Support Worker, you will play an important part in assisting people to achieve their goals as specified in their NDIS plan.

As a Disability Support Worker and respected ambassador of McArthur you will be required to assist people with:

• Household tasks - household cleaning and laundry
• Skill development - shopping, cooking, catching public transport
• Transport - transport to appointments and/or shopping
• Social & Community participation - engage in the community, meet people.

Applicants will require:

• Relevant Industry experience
• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability Cert IV or equivalent
• Current Working with children blue card and NDIS workers screening check
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
• Current Manual Handling Certificate or willing to obtain
• Medication Certificates/experience will be looked at favourably
• Valid Driver's License

Training credentials in Complex Care, for example - Bowel Care, Peg Feeding, Dementia and Mental Health would be highly regarded.
